Club Penguin items are unique ensembles for a penguin and its player card. The standard penguin is divided into 7 different clothing categories: Head, Face, Neck, Body, Hand, Feet and Color. By clicking on the penguin’s player card, it will also reveal its Backgrounds, Awards and Pins. The first recorded Club Penguin clothing ID is the color blue, which can presently be purchased at the Penguin Style Catalog for 20 coins. The other 13 available Club Penguin colors can also be bought for 20 coins. Furthermore, the first recorded clothing ID is a face item: the Black Sunglasses. This item was available for members in late 2005 for 200 coins. Free Club Penguin Items are normally available somewhere around the island during events or parties. Items that costs coins are usually purchased from the monthly Penguin Style Clothing Catalog. Also, a certain item or a certain combination of items (otherwise known as an outfit) will create special dances. To activate a special dance, simply press the “D” key on your keyboard.

There are currently a total of roughly 3,000 Club Penguin items. This large number clearly indicates how important clothing items have been for the last 7 years.

Special Dances:

Club Penguin Special Dances make your penguin execute special dances that can’t be done without some particular item(s). The first ever recorded special dance involved the Hard Hat. Wearing the Hard Hat while dancing would allow you to drill. This can be done using the Orange Hard Hat and the rare Red Hard Hat as well. Another popular special dance was the “clown dance”, which would make your penguin juggle. The clown dance requires the Club Penguin clown outfit: clown wig, red clown shoes and the clown suit.

Many special dance combinations can be found in the “Penguins At Work” section of the monthly Club Penguin Penguin Style Clothing catalog.
